Things to consider when you or your students check out the cameras:

  • Since there is not a lot of storage space on the school's server, it is recommended to have the students save their video files onto a portable flash drive. The flash drive should have at least 1 GB of storage space dedicated solely to the video that they are filming. They should not intend to save the files on the Flip cameras because at the end of the day, the space needs to be cleared so that another student may record on it.
  • Once you or your student record video footage, please remember that Flip video cameras can only be viewed on computers in the school which have the Flip software loaded on them. Currently all of the teachers' computers, Media Center computers and English lab (263) have the Flip Software loaded on them. If you would like the software loaded onto a specific computer in the school, then please send an asset tag and serial numbers to the media specialist.
  • If students will be editing their videos at school, it is recommended to use the Windows MovieMaker software instead of the Flip Video software, due to restrictions on school computers and file storage capabilities.
  • Here are instructions on how to save your video from the flip camera and the basic steps of importing them to Window MovieMaker.
